Few things are as associated with Sweden as the Dala horse, with its origins in Mora. It was in the 18th century that the forest workers in the villages of Mora began carving wooden horses in log cabins in the evenings. Much later, in the 1830s, the horses got their characteristic gourd bit pattern. They were eventually sold in the villages and traveled with traders around Sweden. Green socks with Dala horses.
